What software is ScholarPort Inc. selling?
We do not sell distance learning software. That’s a major difference between us and most distance learning companies. For the most part you already have the basic tools, such as the Microsoft Office Suite and other standard applications. We focus on providing essential, behind-the-scenes services such as administering the servers and providing technical assistance to end users, and consultation to repurpose your place-based training materials for delivery using graphics, sound, video, and the interactive platform to support learning any time, any where at any pace.
What distance learning Course Management System software does ScholarPort Inc. use?
We use several applications to make your training program interactive, from commercial ware to open-source ware. Our goal is to help your company shift to the use of web-based training for workers.
Our training program is time-fixed and place based. Does ScholarPort help to make the conversion to web-based models?
Yes. ScholarPort’s curriculum development consultant has experience in continuing education where just-in-time training is valued over the “just in case” model used in traditional education. We work with your trainers to repurpose your training program to make it ready for web delivery. We help your company to build hard-hitting short courses so personnel can get just-what’s-needed training and support when they need it.
Our instructors are not familiar with Content Management Systems. Do you offer assistance to them?
Yes. We provide train-the-trainer technical instruction by our curriculum consultant, who has extensive experience in course development, management and teaching at the graduate level using Content Management Systems, and more than 15 years of program development and teaching experience in adult education, including use of the train-the-trainer model. We can show your instructors how to use it to the best advantage in achieving your educational objectives.
Will ScholarPort Inc. provide ongoing technical support in case we have problems?
Yes. ScholarPort’s experienced, professional Help Desk staff provide fast-response technical support to your students year-round. Our Help Desk support serves as a supplement to the excellent Help resource built into WebCT software. It seems that Murphy’s Law is still in full force when computers are involved. Computers and the Internet are complex, and people need assistance when they need it. End users forget their passwords, get frustrated when they can’t seem to get rid of computer viruses, and face problems that come up at the worst times. This is where ScholarPort technical support comes in. We work in the background and help your people solve problems that prevent them accessing your online training program.
